We always pour our hearts and creativity into every arrangement we make, but every once in a while we get a call from a client telling us the order is for an artist. I always get a little flutter in my chest...the excitement of the challenge, creating art for another artist. Will they judge it, or appreciate it more? What if they don’t like it? How can I make it relevant to their work?
We recently received an order from the board of the American Textile Alliance for just this type of creative challenge. Working with a neutral palette we wanted to design with texture. Using a mix of outrageous greens, succulents and an unexpected combination of unique whites (hydrangea, orchids, king protea and more), our piece told lots of little stories. And the texture just made you want to reach out and touch it...
We love the excitement of a creative challenge. What will the story for our next one?
